The Department

The City of Canton Community Development Department is responsible for working with the citizens of Canton, Boards of Commissions, the development community and the elected officials while managing current and long-range planning, land development, building construction and code compliance.

The Position

This is a temporary position responsible for organizing and sorting multiple types of files to include annexations and rezoning applications. These files will need to be scanned and copied from various paper sizes. These files will need to be downloaded to City software and CD’s. The duration of a temporary assignment varies in length and is intended to be no longer than three to six months. City of Canton business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am -5:00pm. Daily schedule times may vary within these parameters.

 

Minimum Requirements

Ability to work full-time during normal business hours.
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level.
Ability to work independently or as a team player.
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Ability to enter data efficiently, timely and correctly.
Ability to adapt and comprehend procedures quickly.
Possess knowledge and skill in the use of various office equipment to include a scanner, plotter, computer, etc.
Knowledge of development processes, preferred.
Must possess a valid State of Georgia Driver’s License.

Pay

Starting hourly rate for this position is $15 dependent upon qualifications & experience.
