"Improv (short for improvisation) for kids is a form of live, unscripted theater, where children create scenes, characters, and stories on the spot without the use of scripts or rehearsals. It is essentially a structured form of ‘playing pretend’ that encourages creativity, collaboration, and thinking on one’s feet, often resulting in silly and humorous performances."
Classes will be from 9AM - 12PM at the Historic Canton Theatre, from June 8th - June 12th, with a final showcase on June 12th at 10:30AM.
There are two sessions to choose from: Youth Group (9 - 12) or Teen Group (13 - 16). Registration is $225 per student.
Each daily session will include:
- Improv Training, led by professional improvisors
- Warm-Up Games
- Specialized Trainings, designed to reinforce the focused-on 'skill of the day'
- Short-Form Games, which will be performed at Friday's showcase
There will be bathroom, snack, and water breaks, but students are responsible for bringing their own snacks and water bottles.
A follow up email will go out with more information as we get closer to the start of camp!
