If you were in the Downtown Canton area yesterday (Aug. 26), you might have noticed the cut-through road next to Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services Station #16 was closed; this was to accommodate the equipment used for repairs to the building's roof.

In continuing the renovation of this historic building, the next step involves hazardous material removal, which will require the continued closure of that cut-through for approximately two weeks due to material handling. This process will also require material containment; a moisture/dust barrier will be constructed inside the building to prevent any construction debris from escaping the site.
