Development News

Greetings Canton!

While you may already be familiar with what's happening at the Historic Jones Building (Click here to read more), there are many other exciting new businesses and developments happening around the City and I am glad to share information of those new enterprises with you.

Help us welcome these additions to our community and economy:

Northside Hospital-Cherokee announced an expansion of 13 additional medical/surgical beds and possibly adding two additional stories to their current main tower, less than a year after opening their new replacement facility at 450 Northside Cherokee Blvd.

Studio 5 Hair Salon, Indigo & Oak, and The Chamberhouse are all now under one roof. Their shared building on Main Street, formerly completely occupied by The Chamberhouse, now houses all three businesses, plus Events on Main, all located at:

- Studio 5 (136 Archer St.)

- Indigo & Oak (145 W. Main St., Ste. 104)

- Chamberhouse (145 W. Main St.)

- Events on Main (145 W. Main St., Ste. 100)

The 101 W. Main St. building is undergoing renovations. Canton Shoe Repair will continue its operations in the building in the suite on Church St., closest to Greene's Blueprinting.

Four new commercial businesses opened around town in the past two months:

-Southernite Interiors (196 North St.)- opened Sept. 1

-The Local on North (170 North St.)- opened Sept. 5

-Horizon Training Center (182 North St.)- opened Sept. 5

-Hair and More (1035 Marietta Rd.) opened Oct. 6

Small things make a big difference in keeping our downtown clean. We installed two additional dome lids with ashtrays to existing trash receptacles downtown this month, all courtesy of the Canton Downtown Development Authority.

Can't wait to let you know what's happening next month!
