Canton Theatre

July 28 - “Singin’ in the Rain” with the original 1952 cast. Great for a date night and only $5.00. Doors open at 7 p.m., the movie begins at 8 p.m. All snacks are $1.

August 2 – 12 – “The Foreigner” a fast-paced comedy presented by the Canton Theatre. Tickets are $15 for students and $18 for adults.


Cherokee Arts Center

Continuing through July 27 - Cherokee Arts Center Members’ Art Show and Sale in the gallery.

Around Town

July 21 - 7th Annual Collins Dixon Bend Your Knees 5K.  The race begins at 8 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Canton. Register at Canton First Baptist Church on Friday evening at 7 p.m., or at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning. Proceeds support families that are facing the battle and journey of a child with a cancerous brain tumor. 

July 27 & 28 – 11th Annual Canton Explorers Rodeo in Boling Park. Gates open at 6 p.m., and performances begin at 8 p.m.

August 4&5 – Sky Rebels Fly-In. A model airplane flying competition held at Etowah River Park.



The Canton Farmers Market — continues every Saturday through October from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in downtown Canton. The 10th Annual Pie Contest will be held on July 21 @ 10:30 a.m., and the 10th Annual Tomato Sandwich Festival on August 4 at 11 a.m.

The 7-week Summer Cornhole League continues through August 7th at Cannon Park on Tuesday evenings. Games begin at 6:45 p.m. Registration for the fall season beginning on September 4th is now open at

July 28 - The Summer Series of Movies continues in Brown Park with "Ferdinand" at sundown. Movies in the Park are sponsored by: Northside Hospital, Southern Outdoor Cinema, Covenant Christian Academy and the City of Canton. Bring your blanket or lawn chair for a movie under the stars.

August 3 – First Friday in downtown Canton! Join us for Alumni Night in Cannon Park. Wear your school colors and celebrate your high school days with us. The winning decade at last year’s Alumni Night was 1966-1975 and Anita and Party Life will bring back the oldies for us to celebrate those years and more.

August 4 - Dumpster Day – Free monthly City cleanup day with dumpsters and electronic recycling at City Hall from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Go to for a list of included acceptable items.

August 11 Concert in the Park. The band, Local Legends, will be performing in Brown Park from 6 – 9 p.m. This is the replacement date for June First Friday which was canceled due to bad weather.
