Ward 2 Town Hall Meeting

Members of the public are invited to attend a Town Hall Meeting hosted by Ward 2 Canton City Councilmen Will Carlan and Shawn Tolan on Sunday, October 4 at the Historic Canton Theatre.  The event will begin at 3 p.m. and guests will be seated with social distance guidelines.

"Since we now have both Ward 2 City Council seats filled, we thought this would be a great time to get together with citizens to hear, first-hand the issues that are most important to you," noted Councilman Shawn Tolan.

Ward 2 encompases downtown Canton, Governor's Walk, Canton Marketplace, areas south of Riverstone Parkway, River Pointe, and residential areas off East Main Street.

“I hope that all of our residents and business owners in Ward 2 will feel welcome to voice their questions and concerns at this Town Hall. This is your first of many opportunities to address the ways we can make our part of Canton better, kinder, and stronger,”  added Councilman Will Carlan.

The event will include a quick overview of City projects, finances, and include opportunities for questions from the audience.  Individuals that cannot attend, may email their questions to and with a reference to the Ward 2 Town Hall Meeting in the email.  Light refreshments will be served.

"As we continue to build our new road map to move Canton forward, I've often stated the process begins and ends with citizen input. Town Hall meetings in our Wards are an excellent opportunity to engage in the dialog that shapes our city, and they also provide direct communication to the Council Members representing the best interests of the community," stated Mayor Bill Grant, also a resident of Ward 2.  "We look forward to a productive and informative gathering with Ward 2 Councilors Shawn Tolan and William Carlan and hope to have a great turnout."
